The point where the step meets the balustrade skirt panels is one of the most difficult places to clean mechanically, as it is the most difficult for machinery to access.
As a result, these areas often remain the most heavily soiled unless cleaned by hand – a job that requires a great deal of time and effort.
Eureka escalator cleaning machines, whether for treads (the horizontal part of the step) or risers (the vertical part of the step), are designed to clean right to the edge.
- Thanks to Edge2Edge technology, the EC52 can clean thoroughly right to the edges of the step since it can be placed in direct contact with the skirt panels. On the support side, the cleaning head is extremely narrow, allowing the brushes to be positioned flush with the balustrades. All you need to do is turn the head through 180° (an extremely easy task on the EC52) to clean the other side of the escalator with the same precision.
- The ERC45 riser cleaning machine on the other hand has brushes mounted on the two central arms of a mobile ‘T’ frame. The bristles at the sides of these brushes are specially angled for maximum efficiency in this application and reach both the left and right edges of the step without obstruction.
