Among other locations, this year’s races will be held at the Red Bull Circuit in Austria, the Bugatti Rimac Test Track in Croatia, and the Hungaroring, home of the Hungarian Formula One Grand Prix.
The project goes far beyond racing alone, however, and the students involved, from the departments of DII, DEI, DTG, DM and FISPPA, are hard at work throughout the year. In fact, the idea behind Formula SAE is to simulate a real company commissioning the development of a prototype racing car. Therefore, along with results on the track, the teams’ skills in the design and engineering of their cars, their understanding of tools, processes and production costs, and their presentation of a business plan capable of guaranteeing the project’s profitability and viability are also assessed. You compete to win, of course, but this competition is really only a means to an end. The real goal is to foster the professional development of students in the fields of design, project planning, team building, communication and project management.
“Race Up is a true expression of the University of Padua’s excellence,” says Eureka’s CEO, Antonio Barile. “Dialogue between universities and the world of business is a formidable driver of innovation. Encouraging these youngsters to do their best in an innovative, ambitious and practical project like participating in Formula SAE, and supporting their professional and personal growth by doing so, can only produce positive effects.”
"We are truly grateful to Eureka for the trust it has placed in our project and team. This support is crucial for our continuous growth, improvement, and determination to face the challenges ahead this season. Race UP is more than just a team; it offers a comprehensive educational experience that equips students with both theoretical and applied technical and managerial skills, preparing them to step into the professional world" says Andrea Zausa, Head of the Business & Marketing department of the team.
So, good luck to both the Race Up teams, Hybrid and Electric, for a successful season with Eureka at their side!
